Title: How to set up a trust on your PI server for CompressionInsight
Product:
CompressionInsight
Version(s): 2.0 and higher
———————————————————————————————————————————-
Issue:
During installation, an account is requested for the PDT.CIEngine service to run against the PI server. In many organizations, windows authentication is used to map permissions for users on the PI Server. Subsequently, many organizations also require users to change their passwords from time to time to increase security.
Often passwords are changed by users but when the password is changed, it is not updated on the services that were using the account.
Resolution:
To work around this issue, we recommend organizations to set up a trust for the two components of CompressionInsight to access the PI Server as a piadmin.
The trust can be set up for the following components:
– CompressionInsight.exe
– PDT.CIEngine.exe
A completed trust will look something like this:
With a trust set up, any user that logs into the machine running CompressionInsight can view results and recommendations made by CompressionInsight.
