KB Article #PDT541 – Could not connect to [PI Server] after updating license file

January 16, 2013 by digital Leave a Comment

Title: Could not connect to [PI Server] after updating license file

Product: CompressionInsight
Version(s): 1.1 and higher

———————————————————————————————————————————-
Issue:

After updating license file and following the steps to activate the license file, CompressionInsight is no longer able to connect to the collective PI server.

The reason for this is because the name of the PI Server in the license file is set to one of the PI servers within the collective instead of the name of the Collective itself.  The name of the PI server contained in the license file is case sensitive and name specific.  If the PI server in the license file does not match the PI server that CompressionInsight needs to use, the engine will not connect and CompressionInsight will not run.

Resolution:

To resolve, please contact ci.support@patterndiscovery.com to obtain a new license file that will contain the name of the Collective PI server instead of the name of a PI server within the collective.
